Access measurement and annotation tools by clicking in the Single view of the Clips & Stills tab on the Exam page.
Note: Pause clips before taking measurements and adding annotations.
Taking Measurements
The following measurement tools are available:
- measures the distance between two points. Click on the image or paused clip to define one endpoint, and then click again to define the other endpoint. You can adjust a line by clicking and dragging one of its handles.
- measures the distance between an DICOM-defined axis line and the point on an M-mode image. Click once to place a point at the top or bottom of a peak. A DICOM region reference line must be present.
- measures the circumference and area of an ellipse. Click and drag to expand an ellipse. You can adjust or rotate an ellipse by clicking and dragging one of its handles.
- measures the circumference and area of a closed free-form shape, allowing you to trace a region. Click and drag to draw the shape.
Click and hold a measurement to select it. You can drag the measurement to move it or press the Delete key to delete it.
Click Clear All to remove all measurements from the image or paused clip. Saved measurements cannot be cleared.
Click Save to save a copy of the image or paused clip with measurements.

Adding Annotations
The following annotation tools are available:
- draws an arrow on the image. Click and drag to draw an arrow. Enter an optional label for the arrow in the pop-up window that appears. You can adjust an arrow by clicking and dragging one of its ends.
- masks part of the image with a black rectangle to anonymize patient information. Click and drag to place the mask. You can adjust a mask by clicking and dragging one of its handles.
- adds a text label to the image. Enter the text in the pop-up window that appears. You can reposition the text by clicking and dragging it.
Click and hold an annotation to select it. You can drag the annotation to move it or press the Delete key to delete it.
Click Clear All to remove all annotations from the image or paused clip. Saved annotations cannot be cleared.
Click Save to save a copy of the image or paused clip with annotations.
