NOTICE: Do not shut down your computer while running UpLinq. This results in database corruption or duplicated exams uploaded to UltraLinq.
You can set up UpLinq to run continuously in the background to monitor for new exams without having to manually open the application.
Run UpLinq as a service by following these steps.
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\UltraLinq_DICOM for 2.7.8 for older versions of UpLinq and C:\Program Files\UpLinq 2.9.1\firedaemon for newer versions. Double click FireDaemonUI.exe.
- Click
New. -
- Enter UpLinq in the Short Name field.
- Enter UpLinq in the Display Name field.
- Enter C:\Program Files (x86)\UltraLinq\UpLlinq 2.7\UpLinq.exe in the Executable field for UpLinq 2.7.8 or older, enter C:\Program Files\UpLinq (Enter Version Number here)\UpLinq.exe in the Executable field for UpLinq 2.8 and newer.
- Enter C:\Program Files (x86)\UltraLinq\UpLinq 2.7 in the Working Directory field for UpLinq 2.7.8 or older, enter C:\Program Files\UpLinq (Enter Version Number here)\UpLinq.exe in the Working Directory field for UpLinq 2.8 and newer.Fill in the Program tab.

- In the Settings tab, uncheck the box by Interact with Desktop, and enter your computer's administrator username and password (This is to allow the service to run on the computer).

- Click OK to save all changes.
Please Note:
-Please make sure that UpLinq is not running when the service is running, this will cause errors on the exam.
-You can stop the service by navigating to C:\UltraLinq_DICOM for 2.7.8 for older versions of UpLinq and C:\Program Files\UpLinq 2.9.1\firedaemon for newer versions and double clicking FireDaemonUI.exe, once stopped the uplinq program can be opened like normal.
-Please ensure the service is stopped before the computer is turned off, you will need to restart the service once the computer is back on.
