If you have a previous version of UpLinq installed please see the following article: Removing UpLinq. Any previous version of UpLinq must be removed before installing UpLinq 2.8.3
If this is a new installation, or you have already removed UpLinq as per the above article, please proceed with the steps outlined below.
Prerequisites
Please Ensure that:
- Previous version of UpLinq is uninstalled: Removing UpLinq.

The minimum device requirements for UpLinq install are met: UpLinq Requirements.
- The latest version of windows updates are deployed.
- You have admin permissions on your computer to install software on the computer
Installation
1. Download UpLinq 2.8.3 by clicking on the link here: Download UpLinq 2.8.3
2. Launch the installer
3. Select "Next" from the installer screen
4. Read and accept the terms of service and then select “Next"
5. The next screen will contain the components for the software that will be installed, we would recommend you do not adjust these settings as they are all necessary for proper installation. Select here “Next” to proceed
6. Select Install:
7. Once complete, a shortcut to the application will automatically be installed on your desktop. Click on the shortcut to launch the application setup
Setup Wizard
1. The first page will request information for your proxy server, if you do not have a proxy server you can select “next”, please contact your local IT for any proxy server details if relevant.
2. Enter your company’s Customer ID which is displayed below your company’s name on the admin screen of your UltraLinq account (Only account administrators have access to this ID):

3. Select the following types of data you will be uploading: Cypress, Sonosite, Biosound, DICOM. Most modern medical devices transfer data in DICOM format, please refer to your device for information on the transfer format:
NOTE: If the data you will be uploading is in DICOM, only select DICOM, do not select DICOM(with Radiology Support}
4. Set Watch Directory options for each type of device you selected in Step 3. By watching a directory, UpLinq monitors the folder for changes and adds new files to the UpLinq worklist when added to the folder.
The standard watch directory for exams is the C:\ProgramData\UltraLinq\UpLinq 2.8.3\studies folder. Select the three dots to choose your exam watch directory:
** Note that the "ProgramData" folder is a hidden folder, you may need to show hidden folders to access it. Information on that process is available here
5. Once selected, click "Next"
6. Select a folder to hold the encoded files by UpLinq
The C:/ProgramData/UltraLinq/UpLinq2.8.3/encoded folder is automatically selected we would recommend not adjusting this, select "Next" to proceed
7. On the “Exam Retention” section, select "Next" to continue:
NOTE: We do not suggest selecting the “Delete exams on upload” option. Any additional exam data received after a complete upload will generate errors when grouping files for the same exam.
8. Select “Finish” on the Summary page:
9. The UpLinq application will launch immediately when setup is complete with a pop-up window. Click on the checkbox next to "Do not show this dialog again.", click "Yes", and you will be ready to begin uploading data to your account.
Shortcuts
If you install UpLinq and the shortcut is not available to all users, please carry out the following steps.
1. Login as the user whom installed the software
2. Find the UpLinq icon on the desktop
3. Right click on the icon and select 'Copy'
4. Paste the shortcut to the following locations:
All Users' Desktop:
C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop
All Users' Start Menu:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
